Tis the Season of Traditions

This fall has flown by! I can’t believe we are nearing the end of another awesome year. We have been enjoying and adjusting to life with three goldens. Willow has found her place amongst the kiddos (human and dog). This is one of my favorite times of year, filled with traditions, excitement, and love. It is a time where I enjoy slowing down (yes, you heard me right), soaking in each moment with my family, and remembering and experiencing the joy of giving and loving on others.

We have a few traditions that according to our kids just can’t be broken. One of these traditions is getting our tree the day after Thanksgiving. This year it was pouring rain on Friday and when Dad mentioned maybe we wait till tomorrow we were informed that NO, WE WERE GOING! 🙂 I’m happy to say we have outdoor loving, adventurous kids! No matter what the weather.

Another one of our traditions is the tradition of Advent, but instead of an advent calendar we have 24 books that are wrapped and each night we open one to read. This tradition has been one filled with excitement and joy as our kids try and guess what book is under the wrapping. Their favorite part is unwrapping it. My favorite part is gathering as a family by the fire every night to read one more Christmas Story.

And last but not least the Christmas tradition of watching a Muppet’s Christmas Carol on Christmas Eve with my living room lit up with Christmas lights while the kids stay up late, often falling asleep before the movie is over is yet another wonderful reminder of the sweet blessings God has blessed us with. While these are only a few of our traditions this time of year. These are three of my favorite.

What are some of your favorite traditions?
