The air is cooler in the morning and the days are becoming markedly shorter. School buses are on the roads again. The leaves are changing and falling in the yard and the smell of ripe, late August blackberries has all but disappeared. Much about the arrival of Fall seems to signal endings. The ending of summer, of vacations, and the slowing down of life as vegetation goes dormant for the cold months ahead.
For me though, this time of year has always been full of beginnings. The beginning of a new school year, starting new routines, and the beginning of what will soon be the holiday season. At our house, we also enjoy the beginning of football season. We will wholeheartedly be rooting on the Trojans and the Seahawks!
In our home this season, we have many new beginnings to be excited about. Our oldest started as a first grader while our daughter started her school career in Kindergarten.
What an exciting and emotional week it has been! From excitement over school to exhaustion from all the new experiences, we have seen it all this week. I have personally started a new job and a new commute to Snohomish, both of which are going well. We are slowly settling into a routine again and looking forward to the school year ahead and all the new learning, challenges, and fun experiences ahead. We are finding time to finish projects but also to spend time together as a family.
There are still a few adventures ahead this fall which I will be excited to share about as they come up. One adventure will be a bit of a mystery journey that I hope you will follow along and join us for. We will announce more here and on our Facebook page around the beginning of October so be sure to subscribe and like the page to hear about our adventures.
I wish all of you a happy Fall season. I hope that you are able to cherish special moments with your loved ones and find time to slow down and enjoy life just a little more. We are looking forward to sharing this season with you!
